A donor advised fund (DAF), is like a savings account specifically for charitable giving. You put money into this account, and you get a tax break right away. Then, you can decide later which charities you want to support with that money, and the account will handle the actual donation process. 

You can take your time to decide which charities to support and make grant recommendations over time – such as a one-time grant or a recurring grant.
